A key component of iConquerMS™ is the Multiple Sclerosis Patient-Powered Research Network (MS-PPRN). The MS-PPRN is a network of organizations and people who are participating in patient-powered research to better understand and treat MS.
The MS-PPRN is funded by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), an independent, nonprofit organization authorized by Congress in 2010. Its mission is to fund research that will provide patients, their caregivers, and clinicians with the evidence-based information needed to make better-informed healthcare decisions.
The MS-PPRN is one of 20 Patient-Powered Research Networks funded by PCORI. These PPRNs, along with 13 Clinical Data Research Networks, make up PCORnet: The National Patient-Centered Clinical Research Network, a large national network designed to collect and use health data to improve healthcare.
